Hanging out in cafes

I have at least one unfinished post languishing in my queue. I wanted
to write last week about the first dinner party we threw as a married
couple in our new apartment. It was a delightful disaster, but the
post was unsatisfying because I couldn't find the balance between
snarkiness, honesty and blogworthiness. But the urge to write about
the salmon, the lapsed law student, the Republican activist and the
Medievalist who converged in our tiny living room is too much to
resist. Or the near sadistic pleasure of watching people squirm as the
tried to parse each other's divergent opinions. And how, as the
hostess, I had the immunity to laugh and pour another round of
champagne.

Oh the unmitigated joy of a visit to 327 Market!
Thanks Camille. Reading your posts make me smile inside and out.

So unfortunate to have such a blunderous first dinner party. I wish I could have been there to stir the pot, too!
