The Endless Art vs Kitsch Debate

Every once in a while I get myself into a philosophical bind by asking myself questions like "What is art?" "What is Art?" "Am I good?" "Why do I do it?" "Why is it that I have no desire to be in the "fine art" world" (But I'd sure like the prestige) "Is there something childish about drawing piktures?"

I just slogged through an article on Odd Nerdum's web page, written by one of his assistants, defending representational painting. So that is the bias, and here's the link Somehow I feel vindicated in my pursuits of narrative, reality-based drawings. I don't agree with the writer's complete condemnation of modern "art" (though maybe its the kitschy modern stuff that I like).
