Chocolate waits for me in the staff room. Not the Russell Stover of
the other side of the El, but Godiva-- piles and piles of Godiva and
exotic French boutique chocolates in beautiful ribbon covered boxes.
Tokens of affection from the rich and famous. I can resist the waxy
and uninspired bonbons of the Safeway Special Russell, but its harder
to resist the clouds of ganache, the rich chocolate creme that fills my
mouth with bliss. I think I am going to say no. I like the way my
head is free and clear right now. I am going to embrace the current
state of my blood sugar level. Thinking is good. Focus is good. We
like that. It helps us do our jobs.
