a better five minute post

Creekside

Rosa is letting me use her 'net to blog. I am in the throes of a perfect Flip Flop Mountain Saturday morning. In fact, it seems a little too much like work to write. Last night I drove to the Elevens' cabin, where we talked and had show-and-tell. It has been raining, so the trees are dark, wet and fragrant (like dirt and green and must all together). i spent the night in their spare room (with Mr Eleven's camera collection keeping me company).

Rosa's B is cooking breakfast and her house is filled with good cooking smells (although someone mentioned that the fat free turkey bacon smells a little like burning protein, which reminded the speaker of burning hair, and then fingernails-- but in the context its still an appetizing odor-- I am so hungry right now it doesn't matter.

fat free turkey bacon? what is this? i can imagine the smell but what does it taste like? turkey? bacon? and what do burnt fingernails smell of? i suppose i could go and try for myself, seeing it would probably hurt maybe not.

hope you're well and enjoying work/headlocks.

Great to read your news fragments.

Well, all I can say is that it tasted salty. Better than shoe leather, and defintiely crunchier, but not as turkey-flavored as one would expect. Don't get me wrong, I went back for more....just tie me up to a water trough and a salt lick, and I'd be content.
