DIY Kombucha SCOBY

For the truly kombuacha-desperate

Go buy a bottle of unflavored, unpasteurized, unfiltered commercial kombucha.  Pour it into a sterilized jar, rubberband a napkin on top and set it in a quiet place for a few weeks, or until it grows its own SCOBY, or rots or spills or your spouse gets sick of looking at it.  Proceed as usual.

Now I know I'm on the wrong planet. I didn't know what kombucha was, and I never heard of SCOBY. However, I looked both of them up.
